|0000611||YaCy||Wishlist - Wunschliste||public||2015-10-25 18:24||2015-10-25 18:30|
|Product Version||YaCy 1.8|
|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0000611: Sort API results on ranking|
|Description||API (yacysearch.json) results are returned unsorted.|
This requires a third-party program using the API to sort them by its own.
Most commonly, such a program can be expected to be an interpreted, non-compiled script, and sorting thousands of results is slow; additionally, the ranking score is a float number, which may further complicate sorting on some scripting languages.
Proposition: sorting results within Yacy before passing them to the API output would move the labor of sorting the results where it belongs: in Yacy's fast Java code.

I'm currently writing an interface for Yacy API now, after months of crawling.
Please at least let me know whether this internal sorting feature is going to be implemented or ignored, so I can better plan my design.
